Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank .243 20" 1:7.5 Twist Sendero

Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank Features The Proof Research Carbon Fiber PXT Barrel Blank is built around PXT rifling technology a complete rethinking of conventional rifling geometry and twist progression. By dramatically reducing rifling lead angle and smoothing how a projectile engages the bore the design reduces wear and creates less felt torque during firing which helps a shooter stay on target more effectively. In controlled testing Proof has documented a 30 to 100 percent increase in barrel life with PXT rifling compared to conventional designs all while holding to the accuracy standards the brand is known for. The 1 in 7.5 twist rate is matched to the .243 caliber chambering for stabilizing a wide range of bullet weights. Built around Proof s proven carbon fiber construction this blank offers an exceptional stiffness to weight ratio reducing the overall weight of a finished rifle without sacrificing performance. The Sendero contour gives the barrel a stout heavy profile suited to precision and long range applications where rigidity matters. At 20 inches with a 2.5 inch breech and 1.2 inch shank diameter the blank is designed for custom rifle builders and gunsmiths to finish into a complete barrel. Weighing just under 3 pounds this blank gives a lightweight hunting rifle or precision long range build a significant weight advantage over a traditional steel barrel.
