Description
The PTR-91 GIR is a semi-automatic rifle from PTR Industries chambered in 308 Winchester, also listed as 7.62x51mm NATO. It is a rifle for shooters who want a rugged, mid-weight platform for target work, plinking and general-purpose use with a magazine-fed semi-automatic action.
The rifle has an 18-inch tapered barrel with 5/8x24 threads for muzzle devices, an overall length of 40.5 inches and a weight of 9.5 pounds. It holds 20 rounds, is built with an aluminum receiver and has a black Parkerized finish with classic green furniture. The top rail is welded for optic mounting and the rifle ships without iron sights, so a scope or other optic is needed for aiming.
The GIR is configured for right-handed shooters and uses a paddle-style magazine release.
