RFI 7.62mm 25″ Barrel Rifle

The RFI Rifle 7.62mm 2A/2A1 (commonly known as the Ishapore 2A/2A1) with a 25-inch barrel is a bolt-action military rifle produced by Rifle Factory Ishapore in India. Developed shortly after the Sino-Indian War of 1962, it is famous for being the last bolt-action service rifle designed for a major military. RFI upgraded the receiver's metallurgy to use improved steel compared to original British Enfield to handle the higher chamber pressures of the 7.62mm NATO round. Unlike the distinctive curved, sloping magazine of a .303 Enfield, the Ishapore features a noticeably squared-off, blocky magazine designed specifically to feed rimless 7.62 cartridges smoothly.
