Redding Reloading Equipment .45 ACP/.45 Auto Rim Pistol/Rifle Taper Crimp Die

Redding Taper Crimp Dies were designed for handgun cartridges which headspace on the case mouth in which conventional roll crimping is undesirable. Also available for some revolver and bottleneck rifle cartridges, for those who prefer the uniformity of a taper crimp.Notes:A taper crimp gently tapers tighter and tighter to hold the bullet in place. This doesn't work the case mouth as hard as the roll crimp and it doesn't affect the overall length of the cartridge. Special Note: Redding dedicated taper dies are designed for one specific caliber. However, realizing that many reloaders what to reload similar calibers (Such as 38 Special/357 Magnum) with the same die, these Combination dies were created. The taper die will have to be backed out to relocate the crimp when loading the longer cartridge.
