Remington ~ 03-A3 ~ .30-06 Springfield

This Remington 03-A3 is a bolt-action rifle chambered in .30-06 Springfield, offered in Fair Condition (30-59%) and sold with a leather sport sling. Remington produced the M1903A3 for the U.S. military from December 1942 to February 1944, using an adjustable peep sight on the receiver and more stamped parts to speed production. This rifle retains its original full-length 24-inch RA 10-43 (October 1943) barrel with the Remington the firearm record and flaming-bomb markings. It has been sporterized: the military stock, handguard, and bands have been removed and a commercial stock fitted, and a side sight mount is installed. The commercial stock has a wood chip at the rear sight line, and the bore is noted as okay but in need of cleaning. Sporterizing removes collector premium, so this rifle is better suited to shooting than to collecting. For those who want a World War II-era Remington 03-A3 action and barrel in a hunting-style configuration, this rifle is worth a look.
