Description
The "American Enfield", formally named "United States Rifle, cal .30, Model of 1917" is an American modification and production of the .303-inch Pattern 1914 Enfield rifle (listed in British Service as Rifle No. 3), which was developed and manufactured during the period 19171918. Numerically, it was the main rifle used by the American Expeditionary Forces in Europe during World War I. The Danish Sirius Dog Sled Patrol in Greenland still use the M1917, which performs reliably in Arctic conditions, as their service weapon. The M1917 is still used as a ceremonial and drilling rifle, as with the M1903, M1 Garand, and M14. If you like surplus military rifles, you should have one of these in your collection. This Remington has a Remington barrel dated 12-17. The bolt is from Eddystone. This rifle is in good shape for it's age and would make a nice addition to your next range day.
