The Remington Model 742 Woodsmaster is a gas-operated, semi-automatic hunting rifle produced by Remington from 1960 to 1980. It was designed as an improved version of the Model 740 and was eventually replaced by the Model 7400 in 1981. Approximately 1.4 million were manufactured, making it one of the most common semi-auto deer rifles of its era. It has a detachable 4-round magazine and a 22-inch barrel. It has a Weaver style rail for scope mounting and adjustable iron sights. This model is popular among whitetail deer hunters for quick follow-up shots. Includes 1 mag. No box.
