Description
Originally known as the Remington Autoloading Rifle, the Model 8 was one of the first successful semi-automatic rifles available on the commercial market. Designed by John Browning using a long recoil operating system and a fixed box magazine. The Model 8 was refined and offered in new chamberings such as .300 savage and renamed the Model 81 Woodsmaster. This example seems to be well used, but well maintained retaining about 75% of the original blued finish. The wood is worn, but no major dings, gouges, or cracks. The rifle has character and looks like it has history. Would make an excellent shooter or just an addition to any collection.
