The Rigby Highland Stalker could be described as a traditional deer-stalking rifle and was directly inspired by the rifles used by British adventurers at the turn of the 20th century. The Highland Stalker got its name from the Scottish Highlands, a place many consider to be the birthplace of traditional deer stalking. The Highland Stalker features an aesthetically pleasing profile, with strikingly slim lines, a rounded pistol grip, a stock made from premium grade-5 Turkish walnut, and hand-finished checkering on the grip and fore-end. The action – the M98 Standard – was made in Germany by Rigby’s historic partner Mauser, and was built to the exact specifications as the original. The result is an action with exceptionally smooth and reliable operation. The Highland Stalker’s sights are composed of the traditional Rigby-pattern iron sights, regulated to 65, 150, and 250 yards. Other features of the Highland Stalker include a three-position safety: In the first position, the rifle is ready to fire. In the second position, the firing pin is locked but the bolt can still be opened. In the third position, both the firing pin and bolt are locked. In addition, the Highland Stalker utilizes a hinged floorplate which can be opened via a latch in the trigger guard, allowing the rifle to be safely unloaded.
