The Ruger American rifle generation II stock is equipped with a comb riser designed to enhance sight alignment. Out of the box, it includes the LOW comb, which raises the comb height by 0.5 inches, suitable for shooters using mid-power magnified optics. For further customization, the kit offers two additional comb risers. One adds 5/8' inches to the comb height, while the other adds 0.75 inches. These risers allow shooters to adjust the comb height to ensure proper eye alignment with the sight. Swapping combs is straightforward, loosen the recoil pad assembly and slide off the current comb. A 1/8 inches hex wrench or a similar tool is needed to loosen the rear swivel stud for the comb change.
