Description
The Ruger M77 Hawkeye African Bolt-Action Rifle is a top choice for serious big-game hunting anywhere in the world. The ultrareliable action is based on the Mauser 98, which utilizes a controlled feed mechanism with a large claw extractor and a fixed-blade ejector. A shallow, express-style, V-notch rear sight and large white-bead, barrel-band front sight provide instant target acquisition at close quarters. Integral scope mounts are machined directly on the steel receiver to accept Ruger scope rings (included), eliminating any chance of screwed-on bases coming loose in the field. A steel trigger guard and hinged floorplate hold up to hard use; and the floorplate latch fits flush with the trigger guard to avoid accidentally dumping cartridges at an inconvenient moment. The front sling stud is mounted on a barrel band, keeping it away from your support hand during recoil. Fore-end comes factory-ready for attaching additional swivel stud. The Ruger M77 Hawkeye African Bolt-Action Rifle features a finely contoured, American walnut stock with cut checkering and an elegant oiled finish. An added stock cross-bolt reinforces the stock during recoil, and a rubber butt pad keeps the buttstock from slipping on your shoulder. The LC6 trigger comes factory-tuned with a smooth and crisp break, optimized for hunting. A 3-position safety allows you to load or unload the rifle with the safety engaged in the middle position, while the bolt locks shut with the safety in the rearward position where it is extremely unlikely to get bumped or knock off safe. The Ruger M77 Hawkeye African is built on principles of simplicity and strength, reminiscent of the safari rifles manufactured at the turn of the 20th Century. Made in USA.
