The Ruger 10/22 rifles are autoloading, recoil operated rifles. The Ruger 10/22 Target Lite lacks the barrel band of the other carbine models. The adjustable length of pull laminate stock with thumbhole make this rifle a joy to shoot. The Ruger 10/22 rifles and carbines have a cross-button safety which is located in the forward portion of the trigger guard. The safety can be operated only when the hammer is cocked. Cold hammer-forged barrel tensioned in aluminum alloy barrel sleeve features a 1/2"-28 threaded muzzle and is fitted with a thread cap which can be removed to allow for the use of muzzle accessories.
