The Rugged Suppressors R3 Flash Mitigation System is a muzzle device for 7.62x51mm NATO rifles, built as a flash hider for the FN SCAR 17. It uses variable fluted prongs to reduce muzzle flash while aiming to avoid the ringing associated with many prong-style designs.
The R3 measures 2.13 inches overall and weighs 2.5 ounces. It has an M15x1 thread pattern and a black finish. Its muzzle-shouldering design is intended to support correct alignment and consistent lockup on SCAR 17 threaded barrels that use this standard.
The device uses a toothless Dual Taper Locking System, which is compatible with Rugged Radiant762, Surge 7.62, Razor 7.62 and Micro30 suppressors.
