Sako 85 Safari Specs The 85L Safari Rifle was made in celebration of Sako’s 90th anniversary, and is part of a limited production of just 90 rifles. Each 85L Safari is individually built by Sako’s master gunsmiths, and offers a perfect blend of form and function. The classic-style stock is specifically designed to provide optimal shooting posture and balance, and is constructed from premium quality walnut, with hand-cut checkering on the grip and fore-end, an ebony tip, and a visually pleasing oil-finish. The 85L Safari’s barreled action is outfitted with Sako’s exclusive Controlled Cartridge Feed system, this eliminates the possibility of cartridge jams and double feeds. Like all of Sako’s rifle barrels, the 85L Safari’s barrel in manufactured with a passion for craftsmanship and quality. The barrel making process starts with a barrel blank, which is then drilled, honed, and cold-hammer forged, before a highly polished finish is applied. The bolt handle is designed to place the shooter’s hand in a natural position while operating the bolt to accommodate rapid repeating shots. To ensure the most durable fit and greatest accuracy, the barreled action is epoxy-bedded to the rifle’s stock. Included with the rifle is a case made from high-quality leather and a Swarovski Z6i 1-6x24 EE Riflescope. The case is lined with green fabric and contains a built-in cleaning kit as well as a braided leather rifle sling. The Z6i 1-6x24 EE Riflescope is attached to the rifle via Sako Optilock scope mounts, and offers an outstanding field of view, a light transmission of 90%, and features the 4-l Reticle for making precise shots.
