The clamping screws are made of blued steel. The rear of the base features two flat surfaces that can be used for sighting through the action or for clamping slings. The Optilock clamps firmly in place by hand. For clamping the clamping screws must be a perfect circle according to the profile of the receiver. When remounting the base make sure to press a little forward from the receiver to ensure a good contact surface.
