Savage Axis 2 243 Win 20" Threaded Barrel Gray 4-Round Rifle

Savage Axis 2 Features The Savage Arms Axis 2 pairs a 20 inch matte black threaded barrel with a 1:9.25 twist rate matched to common 243 Win bullet weights for flat accurate shooting. The carbon steel barrel is threaded 5/8x24 allowing shooters to add a muzzle brake or suppressor without additional gunsmithing so the rifle can be configured for reduced recoil or a quieter report as the hunter s needs change. A user-adjustable AccuTrigger breaking between 2.5 and 6 pounds gives shooters control over trigger feel for a cleaner more consistent break on precision shots which matters most when a single well placed shot on game is the goal. The carbon steel receiver is drilled and tapped for scope base mounting giving hunters flexibility in choosing their own optic setup rather than being locked into a factory-installed rail or sighting system. The rifle s gray synthetic stock is fixed with a contoured pistol grip and ambidextrous palm swells giving right-hand shooters a comfortable and familiar grip position in the field. A rubber recoil pad helps absorb felt recoil keeping the rifle comfortable through extended hunting sessions in variable weather whether that means an early season sit or a long day still-hunting in the cold. An updated ergonomic bolt handle improves control and comfort when cycling the action especially in cold or wet field conditions where gloved hands and slick surfaces can slow a follow-up shot. The detachable 4 round box magazine feeds smoothly and drops free for quick reloads a practical detail for hunters working a stand or blind. At 6.70 pounds with 4+1 capacity the Savage Axis 2 is a practical well-rounded rifle for deer and varmint hunters chasing 243 Win s flat trajectory and manageable recoil at a price that leaves room in the budget for glass and gear.
