The Sig Sauer P238 is a subcompact single-action pistol chambered in .380 ACP, designed for concealed carry and easy handling. It pairs a stainless steel slide with an aluminum alloy frame that has a black hardcoat anodized finish and a beavertail-style grip with fluted front and back strap for a secure hold.

At 2.7 inches, the barrel gives the pistol an overall length of 5.5 inches and weighs 15.2 ounces. It holds 6 rounds and has SIGLITE night sights that are adjustable for windage and removable. The slide carries serrations, and the sear and trigger return spring have been redesigned to prevent spring over-ride of the ejector during assembly.
