Sig Sauer MCX Rattler Features The MCX Rattler was originally designed at the request of the US Special Operations Command who needed a new Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) to replace the MP5. It features a groundbreaking design that takes largely based on the Sig Sauer renowned MCX modular rifle platform which utilizes a short-stroke recoil gas piston operating system. What separates the Sig Sauer MCX Rattler platform from other AR/M4 style rifles is the recoil system that totally eliminates the need for a buffertube making the MCX Rattler more compact than any AR/M4 rifle ever produced. In the place of a buffertube the MCX Rattler Pistol features a small picatinny rail allowing accessories such as folding rifle stock (NFA paperwork required) or folding pistol brace to be installed. Other features of the Sig MCX Rattler Pistol include a full length picatinny rail a free floating M-LOK handguard and a low-profile PDW pistol grip for enhanced ergonomics.
