Description
The SIG Sauer MCX Spear is a semi-automatic AR-10 platform pistol chambered in 7.62x51mm NATO, based on the design of the U.S. Army's XM7 rifle. It is built for shooters who want a compact, modular firearm in a heavy-caliber platform.
The 13-inch barrel is a lightened profile with an overall length of 24.5 inches and a weight of 9.2 pounds. The aluminum receiver and handguard carry a coyote anodized finish. The lightweight ergonomic handguard attaches with screws for added rigidity, and a 2-position adjustable gas valve supports suppressed or unsuppressed use.
The controls are fully ambidextrous, including the bolt catch and magazine release. The pistol uses a 20-round capacity magazine and is compatible with 308 Winchester ammunition.
