The Smith & Wesson Model 66-8 is the modern evolution of the iconic "Combat Magnum." This K-frame revolver is crafted from stainless steel and chambered in .357 Magnum, though it is equally adept at firing lower-recoil .38 Special and .38 Special +P rounds. The "-8" designation represents the most recent engineering revision, which returned the Model 66 to production with several structural upgrades over its 20th-century predecessors. Unlike the one-piece barrels of the past, the 66-8 uses a modern tensioned two-piece barrel design (a stainless steel barrel shroud over an inner liner). This provides better barrel-to-frame alignment and improved accuracy.
