The Schofield revolver, while not claiming the fame of the Colt SAA, was very well received, even preferred, by many in the Old West, especially horsemen. It had the singular feature, with its top break action, to allow reloading of all chambers at once, not one at a time as with the SAA. The retention of the cylinder was also a significant gain as well. The .45 Schofield was somewhat less powerful than the .45 Colt, but much shorter, so the Colt became known as the "Long" Colt This one was made as a tribute gun in 2000, in the Smith and Wesson Performance Center. It appears unfired, Like New In the Box.
