Description
Released in 1947 and originally known as the K-38 Target Masterpiece, it was renamed as the Model 14 in 1957, when all Smith & Wesson guns were given numerical model numbers. It is built on the same K-frame as the Smith & Wesson Model 10 ("Military and Police") revolver. It's equipped with target stocks, a wide target hammer and trigger, adjustable rear sight, and a tall Patridge-style front target sight. This example dates from 1981. It has a pinned heavy barrel. The action is smooth, the bore and chambers are clean and bright, and the cylinder locks up nice and tight when the action is cycled. There is some minor holster wear near the muzzle and a normal drag line on the cylinder.
