Description
The Smith & Wesson 686 Plus is a 7-round double-action/single-action revolver chambered for .357 Magnum and .38 Special +P. It is built on a medium-large L-frame with a satin stainless steel frame, barrel and cylinder, and is suited to self-defense, target shooting and recreational use.
The revolver has a 3-inch barrel and an overall length of 8.18 inches, weighing 2.3 pounds. Its sights are a red ramp front and an adjustable white outline rear. Safety features include an internal lock, and the grips are rubber with an exposed hammer.
Because the 686 Plus fires both .357 Magnum and the lighter .38 Special +P, shooters can use either cartridge in the same cylinder, with the 7-round capacity applying to both.
