The angled blade position provides both a strong grip that minimizes blade movement as well as a powerful initial point of contact for self-defense. While the design of the Pentagon Fx Covert does not preclude additional perforations to a handle scale it does require that the perforations run along the grain of the blade in order to utilize the full blade potential.
