A true piece of American Civil War history, the 1860 Spencer Carbine was one of the first lever action rifles ever made. It's genius design saw the user insert seven metal cartridges into the buttstock of the rifle, which were fed via a magazine tube into the breech. This gave union calvalry and infantry unheard of levels of firepower that was unmatched in its day, only rivaled by the Henry 1860. This all-original Spencer carbine model was manufactured in 1864, and has remained in truly excellent condition given its age. The rifle has been field stripped to confirm all parts are matching, and has been thoroughly inspected. The rifle is 100% functional and in good shooting order, with only a micro-crack noted on the magazine tube. The metal has full patina from age, but shows no signs of scratching, rusting, or pitting. Rifling is equally immaculate. The wood furniture has natural wear from age with a few blemishes, but no splits, chips, or cracks. Measurement of the bore confirms the rifle has not been reboored and is still chambered for its original .56-56 cartridge. No extras are included.
