Springfield Armory Prodigy 9mm Luger 20-Round Pistol

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY PRODIGY CHAMBERED FOR 9MM LUGER AMMUNITION. The Prodigy from Springfield Armory takes the proven 1911 platform and enhances it with double-stack capacity and a performance-driven feature set. Reconfigured around a double-stack magazine, the Prodigy's polymer grip module mounts to its forged steel frame offering capacities of 15, 17 and 20+1. Optics ready with an ambidextrous safety and picatinny rail, the Prodigy combines the most beloved characteristics of the 1911 with modern capacity for unrivaled performance. At 33 oz, the Prodigy is the heaviest full-size 9mm in the category. That mass pays dividends in recoil management. The steel frame soaks up the 9mm impulse so thoroughly that reviewers note the gun stays flat during rapid strings. The trade-off is that 33 oz is not a carry weight. At 8.50 inches overall and over two pounds unloaded, this is a range gun, a competition gun, and a nightstand gun. The 20-round magazine, optic-ready slide, and Picatinny rail make it match-viable as shipped.
