The Spyderco Meadowlark 2 is a black folding knife with a 2.84-inch plain drop point blade, designed for everyday carry and general cutting tasks. It uses a manual thumb hole opener and a lockback mechanism to hold the blade open.
The blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, flat ground, with a 2.625-inch cutting edge and 0.09-inch thickness. The FRN handle has molded slip-free texture and is backed by full-length stainless steel liners. A phosphor bronze bushing supports smooth opening and closing, and a comet-shaped hole allows one-handed operation. Jimping on the spine helps the thumb stay in contact with the blade while cutting.
The knife weighs 2.70 ounces with an overall length of 6.94 inches. It is ambidextrous, with a four-way pocket clip that supports left- or right-handed tip-up or tip-down carry. The lock release includes a David Boye Dent to reduce accidental release while gripping the handle.
