Description
The Stevens 555 Compact is an over/under break-open shotgun in .410 bore, designed for smaller-framed shooters and suited to field use. Its compact frame and 13.25-inch length of pull make it easier to handle than a full-size gun.
The 24-inch barrels are chrome-lined and fitted with a vent rib, paired with a lightweight aluminum receiver and a steel breech insert intended to reduce weight while preserving strength. The oiled Turkish walnut stock and forearm are complemented by a tang-mounted manual safety, a single selective mechanical trigger, and a bead front sight. The gun weighs about 5 pounds with a 39.57-inch overall length.
The 3-inch chamber accepts .410 shells, with a capacity of two rounds. Five interchangeable choke tubes are included: cylinder, full, improved cylinder, improved modified, and modified.
