Firearms produced by Steyr have a reputation for elegance, accuracy, and reliability. The Classic II is no exception. This beautify crafted, general propose firearm is an excellent entry-level hunting rifle complete with driven hunt sights, a fixed radial muzzle brake, a detachable 3-round magazine, and a stock made from a durable synthetic material. In addition, the Steyr Classic II utilizes a unique 2+1 safety feature that offers 3 setting selected by a switch in the tang of the stock. A red dot indicates the safety is off and the rifle is ready to fire. When the first safety level is engaged, the firing mechanism is disabled, the next level will actually lock the bolt down against the stock and a press-to-release tab will lock the SBS switch in the safe position. The 2-stage magazine system on the Steyr Classic II is another unique feature. The first stage will lock the magazine in and allows the bolt to be operated, but it won’t chamber any cartridges. This gives the user an option to load new rounds by hand while still retaining a full magazine. The second stage engages the magazine for standard chambering by the bolt.
