Description
Steyr-Daimler Puch A.G Model 1956 chambered in 257 Roberts. This rifle was made in Austria by Steyr Arms in 1956 and features a 20"blued barrel with a hooded dovetailed blade front sight on a fine serrated ramp base. The rear sight is a fixed "U" notched blade on a barrel mounted base. A second blade flips up and is marked "300". The left side of the receiver is marked "STEYR-DAIMLER-PUCH A.G., STEYR" and with a round "STEYR in a bullseye logo. The receiver Is marked "MADE IN AUSTRIA / Original / MannlicherSchönauer / Mod 1956 / KAL 257 RO". The left side of the barrel shank is marked with a "56" date code, "eagle" proof mark and with a Vienna "NPv" smokeless powder proof mark. The left side of the chamber ring is marked with a "56" date code and "eagle" proof mark. The right front side chamber ring is marked with the serial number "18944". No visible importer mark found on the metal surfaces. The stock is a checkered walnut one piece stock with a capped pistol grip, Monte Carlo comb with European-style cheekpiece, sling swivels front and rear, and a serrated hard rubber butt plate. For its age this gun remains in great condition showing only minimal marks.
