On a factory Ruger trigger assembly the ejector is a small plate that can easily come out of position especially during assembly and disassembly. If the ejector is out of position when the gun is put back together you will only know that something is wrong when you attempt to operate the charging handle. The bolt will be prevented from opening all the way and the only way to fix it is to disassemble the gun and correct the error.
