Description
The sharps sporting rifle earned the moniker "Old Reliable" among those who pursued buffalo hides. Replicating sharps models at an affordable cost posed a challenge for contemporary manufacturers due to its sliding breech-block mechanism and substantial angular receiver. However, this obstacle has been overcome, and Taylor's now offers a diverse selection of the most popular sharps models tailored for both hunting and target shooting. If you're seeking a steadfast, sturdy, and practical lifelong companion, these models are tailored to meet your needs. Within the assortment of sharps models, the sporting variant stands out, featuring an octagonal blued barrel, adjustable front sight and a double set trigger. Meanwhile, the infantry and Cavalry models feature a fixed front sight and a round barrel secured by steel bands. The INFANTRY model uniquely integrates a patch box in the stock, while the berdan or sniper model comes equipped with double set triggers. This production pays homage to one of the most iconic rifles of the American civil War era. The range of rifles encompasses all the pivotal iterations, spanning from paper cartridge to metal cartridge models. We've harnessed the finest materials and the latest techniques across all models, ensuring a superior quality product. Crucial components are machined from forged metals to attain optimal durability and strength, while the deep rifling is expertly broached, guaranteeing exceptional performance in long-distance shooting. Each model is outfitted with drilled and tapped capabilities for installing Creedmoor sights and front tunnel sights with interchangeable inserts, excluding the military variants. Among the paper cartridge sharps rifles, the sporting model features an octagonal barrel with a rust brown finish, coupled with an adjustable front sight and a set trigger. The infantry and cavalry models showcase a blue round barrel, held by bands, and incorporate a fixed front sight along with a patch box on the stock. The INFANTRY model is also available in the berdan version, which boasts a double set trigger. All models are equipped with a graduated rear sight featuring a sliding plate for precision shooting.
