The Thompson Contender in .357 Remington Maximum is a potent single-shot pistol/rifle system, essentially a lengthened .357 Magnum case for increased powder capacity, making it excellent for silhouette shooting and medium game hunting, offering much more power than a .357 Mag with manageable recoil and the ability to also fire .357 Mag and .38 Special rounds. Known for its accuracy, it uses slow pistol powders and often benefits from custom barrels with 1:16" or faster twists for optimal performance in various barrel lengths.
