Thompson Center Encore ProHunter 50 Cal 28" Fluted Stainless Barrel

Thompson Center Barrel for Encore ProHunter Features The Thompson Center Barrel for Encore ProHunter is engineered around the Encore platform s interchangeable barrel system letting a single frame serve as a muzzleloader rifle or shotgun depending on which barrel is installed. The 209 primer ignition system delivers more consistent powder charge ignition than traditional percussion caps which translates to tighter shot groups downrange. Fluting along the 28 barrel reduces weight without sacrificing rigidity making the rifle easier to carry and hold steady during a long day afield. The 1-in-24 twist rate is matched to saboted muzzleloader bullets for accuracy at typical hunting distances. Stainless steel construction stands up to black powder residue and harsh weather better than a blued finish simplifying cleaning after a hunt. No sights are included on this barrel leaving the shooter free to mount a scope or optic suited to their muzzleloader hunting style. Because it uses the same receiver as Encore rifle and shotgun barrels swapping in this barrel takes only a few minutes with no gunsmithing required. For ProHunter and Encore owners expanding into muzzleloader season this fluted stainless barrel is a straightforward purpose-built addition.
