Description

Traditions Kentucky Percussion 250th Features The Traditions Kentucky Percussion 250th is built around a traditional external hammer percussion ignition system paired with a single octagonal barrel bored for .50 Caliber round ball or conical projectiles. The 1:66 rate of twist is matched to patched round ball shooting the classic Kentucky rifle load and the 33.5 barrel length gives the long sight radius that made the original pattern accurate at traditional black powder ranges. A fixed rear sight and blade front sight keep the setup simple and period-correct while the manual safety adds a modern measure of control around the hammer. At 9.25 lbs and a 49 overall length the rifle balances like the historic long rifles it is patterned after. The select hardwood stock carries a 13.5 pull length and is fitted with a brass crescent buttplate a hallmark of the Kentucky rifle silhouette that traces back to early American gunmaking. Blued metal finish throughout contrasts with the brass hardware and buttplate for the two-tone look traditional long rifles are known for. As one of only 250 pieces made the rifle is engraved with the Founding Fathers signing the Declaration of Independence on one side of the stock Washington crossing the Delaware on the other and signatures from the Declaration reproduced across the piece. Whether mounted for display or loaded for the range the Traditions Kentucky Percussion 250th gives black powder enthusiasts a tangible piece of commemorative American history.
