How does a compensator work? their compensator works in several ways. First there are walls within that break the flow of gasses much like a muzzle device. The gasses are then re-directed to two chambers located at the bottom of the Glock Compensator. Then the gasses are ported upwards which creates a nose-down effect. The action of the gasses slowing as they leave the front of the comp along with the action of the gasses porting upwards reduces recoil AND muzzle rise.
