Description
The Ultradyne Athena Linear Compensator is a muzzle device for AR-10 rifles chambered in 308 Winchester and 7.62x51mm NATO. It is designed to reduce muzzle rise and to work with the Dynamount Sighting System, which lets the shooter upgrade to a Dynamount Flip-Up Front Sight. Gas is vented at an angle and then forward, which the manufacturer states sends a lower percentage of sound back toward the shooter.
The compensator is machined from 416 stainless steel with a black SB Nitride finish and weighs 4.6 oz. It uses a 5/8x24 thread pitch and a shrouded timing nut mounting system, and it is rated for the listed 30 caliber cartridges including 308 Win, 7.62x51mm NATO, 300 AAC Blackout, 300 Savage, 303 Savage and 30-30 Win.
