On the left side of the reciever is the ordnance inspectors mark "R.C.D." in a circle. This is the mark of Lt. Col. Robert C. Downey. There is also a "P" proofmark located on the left side of receiver. Per the Colt Serial Number Database, this firearm was manufactured in 1943.
