Description
The Winchester Model 94 Illinois Sesquicentennial was a limited-edition commemorative rifle produced in 1968 to celebrate the 150th anniversary of Illinois's statehood. Also known as the "Land of Lincoln" edition, it was chambered in .30-30 Winchester and manufactured in the saddle ring carbine (SRC) configuration. Winchester produced a total of 37,468 units, making it a fairly common Model 94 commemorative variant, though still collectible due to its historic engravings, gold accents, and medallion inlay on the smooth walnut stock. The 24k gold-plated accents include the loading port, trigger, and saddle ring. The 20" barrel sports a hooded front sight and an inscription near the receiver that reads "ILLINOIS SESQUICENTENNIAL 1818-1968". The rear sight is an adjustable semi-buckhorn type. The receiver has a profile of President Abraham Lincoln on the left side, along with the inscription "Land of Lincoln". It weighs 6 lbs 5 oz and features a 6-round tubular magazine. This particular rifle is in excellent overall condition, with only a very few light marks from handling. The action is smooth, and the bore is clean and bright. It includes the original box with the user manual, warranty cards, and original certificate of authenticity from Winchester.
