The large claw, Mauser-type extractor also provides maximum surface contact on the cartridge's rim for sure extraction of the spent casing; and a solid blade-type ejector reliably clears empty cases from the action. The bolt is locked down with the safety fully to the rear, where it is extremely unlikely to accidentally get knocked to the fire position when carrying the rifle in rugged terrain. Winchester's M.O.A. Trigger System has zero trigger "creep", and no "overtravel" after the firing pin has been released. The excellent trigger, combined with a hammer-forged, free-floated barrel, and forged steel receiver with a bedded integral recoil lug provide exceptional accuracy.
