Description
The Winchester Model 1895 is an American lever-action repeating firearm developed and manufactured by the Winchester Repeating Arms Company in the late 19th century. This example is from 1907. The Model 1895 was the first Winchester rifle to feature a box magazine that is located underneath the action instead of the tubular magazine design. This rifle is also marked Lyon & Lyon, Calcutta. Lyon and Lyon of Calcutta [India] were retailers of sporting/outdoor equipment including firearms, many of which were imported from Britain and the United States. This rifle is in good shape and shows normal wear. A classic Winchester design.
