Winchester ~ Model 23 XTR Pigeon Grade ~ 20 gauge

Winchester Model 23 XTR Pigeon Grade side by side in 20 gauge with 3" chambers. Made in Japan by Olin-Kodensha circa late 1970's to mid 1980's. The exact year is unconfirmed. Serial number is PWK2011107. Features 26-inch blued barrels with ventilated rib, middle bead and front bead. Chokes are fixed, left side is Modified and the right is Improved Cylinder. There is a single trigger with tang mounted safety / barrel selector, and selective automatic ejector system. The silver-toned receiver has scroll engraving with pigeon motifs, complemented by an engraved trigger guard and other decorative metalwork. The gloss-finished walnut stock and forearm have traditional checkering, a pistol grip, and a black grooved butt plate with white spacer. Condition is estimated at 95%. The barrels retain excellent finish with only minor handling marks. The walnut's glossy finish also shows only light handling wear. This fine shotgun comes to us from a private collection, and the previous owner took excellent care of his guns. There are some reflections in the photos that may appear to be scrapes or defects in the wood, but that is the unfortunate reality of trying to photograph a high gloss finish under bright lights. The checkering is well-defined. Both bores are clean and bright, and the action operates smoothly with tight lockup. The forend has a lever release that works easily as intended. Comes with a Winchester branded hard shell case, as seen in the photos. No manual or paperwork.
