Description
The Winchester Model 1873 Short Rifle is a right-handed lever-action rifle chambered in 45 Colt, a design long associated with the cartridge revolvers of the American frontier. It is commonly used in Cowboy Action Shooting, where it fires the same ammunition as a matching revolver.
The rifle has a 20-inch round barrel and an overall length of 39 inches, weighing 7.4 pounds. It holds 10 rounds in its tubular magazine. The receiver is color case hardened and the barrel is blued. The rear sight is adjustable and the front sight is a bead. The stock is walnut with a straight grip, and the buttplate is blued steel with a crescent shape.
