Description
Manufactured circa 1920, this Winchester Model 1886 Takedown, serial number 157074, is chambered in the desirable .33 WCF (.33 Winchester Center Fire) cartridge. Designed by John Browning, the Model 1886 is regarded as one of Winchester's strongest and most iconic lever-action rifles, and the takedown configuration adds both collector appeal and practical portability. Condition is good for its age, showing an even brown-gray patina with areas of finish wear consistent with almost a century of honest use. The walnut stock and forend exhibit handling marks and dents but remain solid and attractive, displaying the character expected of a well-preserved vintage hunting rifle.
