Winchester Model 88 308 Winchester Lever Action Rifle

This Winchester Model 88 chambered in .308 Winchester is an early-production example of Winchester's innovative lever-action sporting rifle. This rifle appears to remain in good overall condition for its age, showing honest handling wear on the wood and metal while retaining a solid, attractive appearance. The rifle features its original style iron sights, detachable box magazine system, and includes one magazine. Serial number 969 places this rifle among the earliest Model 88s produced, manufactured in 1955. Introduced in 1955, the Winchester Model 88 was a groundbreaking design that combined the fast handling of a lever action with a rotating bolt and detachable box magazine, offering performance more commonly associated with bolt-action rifles. Chambered in the highly versatile .308 Winchester, the Model 88 quickly earned a reputation for accuracy and reliability in the field.
