WOOX Professional Whetstone Disk Puck Blade Sharpener 3 in Dual Grit

WOOX Professional Dual Grit Whetstone Puck Features The WOOX Professional Whetstone Disk Puck is made with premium quality American sapphire ceramic using an aluminum oxide abrasive giving it the cutting speed needed to sharpen a wide range of edged tools with minimal effort. Its dual grit design combines a grey medium face rated for medium to fast cutting speed with a fine side that produces a hazy mirror finish capable of shaving sharp. This combination lets a user first set the geometry of a damaged edge on the medium side then refine and polish that edge to a working finish on the fine side. The stone measures 3 inches in diameter and 7/8 inch thick with a hard to medium-hard bond strength that balances durability with consistent material removal. Designed to readily absorb and retain water the stone maintains a thin film on its surface during use which keeps the pores free of metal fines and allows it to cut quickly while still leaving a fine finish. Proper technique calls for holding the stone firmly without exposing fingers near the sharpening edge using small circular or sweeping motions along the blade while working one side before moving to the other. This puck is built to work in tandem with a file which sets the initial geometry on a damaged or dull edge before the WOOX stone is used to rapidly hone it the rest of the way. Made with pride in the USA and including a specifically designed black metal storage container with a screw lid this whetstone puck is a complete portable sharpening solution for the field or the workshop.
