They chose to forge this stripped lower receiver because this process leaves an extremely strong foundation and then is machined after the fact to get the dimensions within +/- .001a tolerances. For a little flare, the front of the magwell features the Gator Grip texture and the magazine well itself is flared for quick mag changes. After all the machining is done, the Zev Tech AR-15 stripped lower is finished in a type II class III hardcoat anodization for protection against wear and corrosion. Another benefit is the Nylon tipped receiver screw that provides tension with the upper to prevent wobble.
