B& T’s USW-P is a high-end, high-performance, striker-fired pistol designed specifically for the civilian market. Like all of B& T’s products, all of the metal parts on the USW-P are exceptionally well machined. This is evident in the barrel, which is produced as a barrel blank by the renowned firearms manufacturer Merkel in Germany, before being machined, heat treated, and coated in-house by B& T in Switzerland. Similarly, the USW-P’s level of Swiss-made precision extends to the slide, which is heat treated then and given a special QPQ coating for outstanding corrosion resistance. Together, the precision-made barrel and slide give the USW-P superb durability, allowing the pistol to easily surpass all of B& T’s stringent assessments including a 10,000 round torture test, a drop test, and reliability testing in extreme heat/cold. The USW-P’s degree of quality and craftsmanship can also be seen in its trigger, which is built to extremely tight tolerances and utilizes a flat facing design to promote greater accuracy. Production quality aside, the USW-P offers a wide array of exclusive features. The frame features an optics cut for use with a micro red dot sight, and models are in development to allow micro red dots (such as the Shield RMSc pattern or Aimpoint ACRO) to be mounted directly to the slide without the need for an optics plate. The installation of a micro red dot greatly enhances target acquisition/engagement, and a set of suppressor-height sights come standard for co-witnessing. The slide also features the same flared “cocking indexes” found on the previous USWA1 model, which enhance the user’s ability to charge the weapon with an optic attached or when wearing gloves. Other features of the USW-P include a compatibility with many CZ75 (Tanfoglio) magazines, allowing the user to easily obtain additional magazines. In addition, the USW-P features cuts on the frame to serve as guides for use with a standard USW holster, and interchangeable grip modules allows the weapon to conform to virtually any hand size.
