The Barrett REC7 Gen II platform was developed to create an ultra-reliable rifle system. It is a lightweight, piston operated semi-automatic rifle. The Gen II uses a one piece 17-4 stainless steel piston, cold hammer forged chrome-lined barrel and chromed-lined gas block with two position gas plug for unparalleled reliability. Magpul MOE® pistol grip and stock, PWS Triad flash suppressor, flip up iron sights, and Geissele® triggers are standard with each rifle system. The REC7 Gen II also incorporates the new Barrett designed handguard that utilizes the Keymod system. REC7 Gen II rifle systems include a 30 round magazine, and flip up iron sights. This SBR variant comes with an 11.5 inch barrel for quicker movement and reduced weight. This allows for greater maneuverability and is perfectly suited for close quarters combat environments including competition or training.
