This is a fantastic add-on that will redirect muzzle blast forward, away from other team members, and is especially effective on shorter barrels. The concussive force of muzzle blast in a CQB environment can go far beyond discomfort. It can be deafeningly loud, cause prolonged headaches, and be dangerously disorienting. The QD Blast Shield is specifically designed to minimize or eliminate the adverse effects of muzzle blast. A quick-detach mechanism included with the unit is compatible with the Griffin line of SDQD mounts, including the Flash Comp, Muzzle Brake, Linear Comp, Compensating Flash Hider, and Tactical Compensator. It's also compatible with many Mil-SPEC USGI A2 muzzle devices; however, not all A2-style muzzle devices are made to Mil-SPEC USGI dimensions.
